Andrew Macintyre

Director and Chartered Financial Planner

Andrew at work

After more than twenty years in senior financial services and wealth management roles, Andrew was invited to join St. James’s Place Wealth Management as a Partner and establish his own Practice in 2018. At Macintyre Wealth Management, his role as a director involves working with you to create a bespoke financial plan that matches your personal goals and help to ensure that your plans stay on track over time.

The Practice has grown steadily since 2018 and the work never stops. Andrew is actively involved with clients on a day-to-day basis, developing financial plans and formulating the right advice.

Passionate about the power of financial planning to transform lives, Andrew is a “lifelong learner” and is among the financial planning profession’s most highly qualified practitioners. He has featured six times in the VouchedFor Guide to the UK’s top-rated financial advisers.

Andrew at home

Setting up Macintyre Wealth Management coincided with a big lifestyle move for Andrew and family, away from the outskirts of Edinburgh, to live in the rural countryside near Perth that the family loves. Outside work, you’ll find Andrew enjoying the outdoors around Pitlochry, fishing, sailing, or taking walks with the family dog.

He is an active member of Loch Tummel Sailing Club and likes to get out on the water whenever he can.

Andy is a keen cook who loves to entertain.

Andrew’s qualifications

As a Chartered Financial Planner (CII) and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (PFS), Andrew is amongst the UK’s most highly qualified financial professionals. This is maintained through his continued professional development. See below to find out more information.

Chartered status:

I have been awarded the title Chartered Financial Planner by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). Chartered Status is the profession's gold standard for financial planners. It confirms that every Chartered Financial Planner has completed a suite of professional qualifications equivalent to a bachelor's degree. It also involves a commitment to continuing professional development and adherence to an industry standard Code of Ethics. You can view the Code at www.cii.co.uk/code.

I also received the Insurance Society of Edinburgh Award for Excellence in the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning exams.

Accreditations:

Andrew is accredited by St. James's Place Wealth Management as a specialist in delivering Financial Education in the workplace and to young people in schools. Delivering generic financial education is a key part of our Corporate and Social Responsibility policy of “giving back”.

“As investors with SJP for more than 14 years, we remain both delighted and impressed by the company. Their business model and investment advice is second to none. Andrew Macintyre has continued to reassure and give excellent counsel when markets have been volatile. Prior to our retirement relocation to Scotland, previous SJP advisers gave structural investment advice which made profound changes to our choice of lifestyle.”
